Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces
Guilin & Longsheng, Yangshou
December 2009
I just can’t get enough of long train rides. Found cheap tickets to Guilin. Only 13 hours though…
My first trip for kind of pleasure. No big cameras, only my photo equipment, Super 8, train ticket, money and Bananas.
I left Shenzhen and it was warm, arrived in Guilin and it was freezing. I don’t know how she survived naked…
Guilin is very traditional, but did turn into a touristic city. Have you seen those “Come to Guilin” commercials recently. I don’t remember where, but i think I saw them in the States a couple years back…
Canadian, Steve Schneider was my partner in adventure in Guilin! Most mature 18 year old I ever met!
I gotta say people in Guilin have a good taste for hats!
The old women love the tourism blossoming in their village.
The ethnic minorities of china are now only around one person of the Chinese population.
They got really long hair as well.
Got back to Guilin at night, and its just incredible. I been to China a bunch of times now, but everyday and night is still a colorful experience & adventure.
The next day it was off to Daxu, a small village not far from Guilin.
Up next it was on to Yangshou. No bus, no train, nor plane. By boat!
We also found some dope spots…Natural Halfpipes!
Then there was a parade and it was off back to Hong Kong and then back to Europe!
